The UAB Sound Archive wins the XXV Connection Awards, a first-class distinction for a project built with open source
On 19 May, at the DMTforum 2026, the UAB Sound Archive was recognised by FECEMINTE for preserving sound heritage through digital technologies. An award that has been distinguishing excellence in the sector for 25 years.
La Tempesta’s contribution to the project has consisted of updating the knowledge base on Omeka S, improving the usability, design and accessibility of the catalogue that gives access to the sound collection, as well as supporting the management of the more than 12,000 recordings that are preserved there.
The history of radio is a shared history. It is cultural heritage, and we believe in the value of open source as a tool to ensure its preservation and public access.
