The IDRC Collection
Pioneers in the 3D digitization of objects and materials with high reflectivity.
The 3D digitization of CRDI’s collection of 99 daguerreotypes within the WAVE project is characterized by the difficulty of obtaining 3D models of objects with high reflective capacity. What makes daguerreotypes so unique is that they can be seen in three different ways: as a black and white photograph, as a mirror that reflects what is in front of you, and as a negative image.

Research, rigor and precision as the fundamental pillars of an innovative work process.
Results obtained:
- Ideation of a solution based on a specific workflow
- High-quality 3D models in geometry and textures
- High-resolution Master models for documentation, archiving and research
- Lowpoly and optimal-quality models for online dissemination and sharing
- Recreation of mirror and negative effects with FX techniques applied to 3D
- Production of high-quality renderings and audiovisuals with 3D models
